Post & Pepper

Your new favourite restaurant

The home of fun dining

Sharing good food, conversation, and time with one another

A dining destination

Exquisite small plates, complex wine, and friendly efficient service

Welcome to Post & Pepper,
in the heart of bustling Stellenbosch

What started as a daydream turned into a full-blown upmarket restaurant in the heart of the historic town’s old Post Office. Rising chef and owner Jess van Dyk launches her solo restaurant venture after working at the helm of some of South Africa’s leading restaurants. Her cooking is playful and refined with reimagined classics and twists on traditional favourites taking you on a flavour packed journey of pure joy and utter deliciousness.

Jess created a space where all aspects of fine dining is respected and celebrated without the starch, snobbery and price tag. The essence of this restaurant revolves around the simple pleasure of sharing good food, conversation and time with one another.

The name Post & Pepper was a play on the history and character of the building while paying homage to the food aspect of the now restaurant.
“Our home was the oldest post office in South Africa- I love that there was history and wanted to mould the restaurants’ concept around that. Pepper had a nice ring to it and growing up my family and I always had a heavy hand when it came to pepper ‘seasoning’ of our food, so it seemed fitting” says Chef Jess when quizzed about the name.

Our logo has fine intricate details to showcase the history of the building such as postage stamps, antique details of the original doors and delicate touches to represent the finer elements of what we hope to offer.

Post & Pepper, the home of fun dining, is fast becoming a dining destination for exquisite small plates, complex wine, and friendly efficient service.
